First he was not guilty.
Then, on the eve of his trial, Kevin DaCosta Cadogan, the bank teller who flattened a pensioner’s account, pleaded guilty to putting a hit out on her.
But when he reappeared last Friday, Cadogan’s statement to the court seemed to suggest he did not know his convicted co-conspirator Kirk St Clair White had hired the hitman to kill the woman.
As a result, his guilty plea to conduct endangering life was vacated and he will go on trial next year in the No. 4 Supreme Court.
Cadogan, of Arthur Seat, St Thomas, had pleaded guilty on his last appearance to unlawfully and maliciously engaging in conduct, on August 24, 2011, which placed Bank of Nova Scotia account holder Hortense Williams in danger of death or serious bodily harm. (HLE)
