Team Barbados won two more gold, one silver and three bronze medals to wrap up this outing at the 36th CARIFTA Aquatics Championships in Curacao.
Overall, Barbados finished fifth with 474 points and fourth with 35 medals, comprising 10 gold, 10 silver and 15 bronze.
The Bahamas dominated the meet with 1 113 points, winning 85 medals (37 gold, 27 silver and 21 bronze), followed by Cayman Islands with 53 (25-16-12) and Trinidad and Tobago with 54 (22-16-16).
Jamaica were fourth on points with 502.5, but down the table with one gold, 11 silver and 18 bronze.
Jaiya Simmons featured in both gold medals on the final night.
First, she won the 13-14 girls’ 50m freestyle in 27.28 seconds and then returned as part of the 200m (4×50) relay team which won in 1 minute 53.46 seconds.
Amiya Harrison was the lone silver medallist, finishing second in the 11-12 girls’ 100m breaststroke in 1:23.29 and returned to get bronze with the 200m freestyle relay team which clocked 2:04.25
Zachary Burke won a bronze medal in the 11-12 boys’ 50 free in 27.27 seconds and Adara Stoddard wrapped up with bronze in the 15-17 girls’ 100m breast in 1:16.26.
