Barbados recorded 245 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, 116 males and 129 females, from the 929 tests conducted on Tuesday, May 24, by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.
The cases consisted of 62 people under the age of 18, and 183 who were 18 years and older. There were 66 people in isolation facilities, while 3 183 were in home isolation.
As at May 24, there were 444 deaths related to COVID-19.
The public health laboratory has conducted 682 320 tests since February 2020, and recorded 79 628 COVID-19 cases (36 364 males and 43 264 females).
Under the National COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign, the total number of people with at least one dose is 162 299 (71.1 per cent of the eligible population).
The total number of fully-vaccinated people is 152 672 (56.3 per cent of the total population or 66.8 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents people who are 12 years and older. (BGIS)
