Two weeks after principal of Surgical Solutions Inc. Dr Sahle Griffith testified that Warren Mottley’s death was linked to the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccines, Coroner Graveney Bannister has ruled that that information should be struck from the record.
In addition, he also ruled that all testimony submitted by lead investigator of the Pharmacovigilance team, Dr Damian Henry, to support that finding, also to be struck from the record.
The inquest into Mottley’s death is being held in the No. 10 Supreme Court. Mottley, brother of Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley, died at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) on June 29, 2021, after undergoing a colonoscopy on June 22, 2021.
Coroner Bannister made the ruling yesterday following a submission by one of the lawyers for the Mottley family, Faye Finisterre, after Henry made certain statements on the stand. He said the doctor relied on research by Griffith, on “some magazine that we don’t know about”, and called the matter “airy fairy”, and that the court could not rely on Henry’s submissions. (HLE)
