PM knocks ‘attempts to mislead’

The Barbados Labour Party (BLP) came out swinging yesterday against what they said were deliberate attempts to mislead the people of Barbados.

After an annual general meeting of the St Michael South branch at the Graydon Sealy Secondary School, topics such as the upcoming child protection legislation and the confusion over what was thought to be a gender-neutral bathroom at a primary school were all on the menu, along with rumours about  debt restructuring, the identity of the Central Bank Governor, the Trident Identification Card and more.

Featured speaker Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley said much of the disinformation was coming from the Democratic Labour Party (DLP), which she said was in “desperation mode” and was flying in the face of its founder Errol Barrow.

“It was Barrow who finalised the work on the NIS (National Insurance Scheme) and free education. Can you believe it is his own party undermining these? Education reform is not about me or this party but about what is best for the children. (CA)
