Rising star Jaiya Simmons was not in the line-up as she was under the weather but her Pirates Swim Club showed they are keen to win their own Conquering The Waters Championship, which opened on Friday at the Aquatic Centre, Wildey.
With 13-and-over girls’ champion Heidi Stoute leading the way, Khalia Springer, Kaija Eastmond, Theo Narain, Rowan Watson, Kaitlin Balgobin and Aquan Critchlow have shown the star power for the Pirates to maintain their aquatic dominance, which started 46 years ago.
However, Dolphins Swim Club, Alpha Sharks, High Tide Swim Club, Seaside Aquatics, Black Sails and New Wave Swim School have shown that they have the talent to challenge the Pirates.
The contenders proved their mettle, especially in some of the relay events. (KB)
