Parkinson Field road safety concern

Wade Quintyne, a resident of Parkinson Field, Pinelands, St Michael, is making an appeal to the Ministry of Transport, Works and Water Resources (MTWW) to make some changes to signage at the nearby junction before a tragedy occurs.

Quintyne wants the stop sign moved to its former location and speed humps placed in the road which connects the ABC Highway and the Pinelands community, opposite the Samuel Jackman Prescod Institute of Technology.

“The stop sign was here for almost 60 years and they come and move it over there. Big vehicles especially does come around this corner so hard that they ride on my driveway and have it all cracked up,” he said.

He said some of the vehicle had run into the wall of an abandoned property and also destroyed a neighbour’s water meter. He fears a tragic accident could occur. (Nation News)
