The Barbados Hockey Federation is set to conclude its season with an international series as the senior and Under-21 men’s teams do battle against their Guyanese counterparts in four matches which begin tomorrow at the National Hockey Centre.
“We will have two teams from Guyana here, their men’s team and Under-21 men’s team. Originally, we hoped to make it a Caribbean end-of-year tournament as most of us are preparing for the CAC Games next year and the Junior Pan Am Championships,” the federation’s secretary Kofi Hinds told MIDWEEK SPORT.
“We didn’t get as lively a response from some of the other countries. We spoke to Jamaica, Trinidad and Guyana. Guyana was interested and had plans to come and we decided that even if we got one team that was willing, we would host them.”
Matches will be played at 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. daily and there will be free entry to spectators. (NM)
