A woman who stole a gun and then contemplated using it to commit suicide was ordered to continue psychiatric treatment as the court fined her a total of $20 000.
Natalie Delores Onita Clarke, of Stewart Hill, St John, was back in the No. 2 Supreme Court yesterday after she had pleaded guilty earlier in the Sessions to having a .22-calibre handgun and ten rounds of .22-calibre ammunition on May 19, 2021.
She was represented by attorney Simon Clarke, while State Counsel Romario Straker appeared for the prosecution.
Yesterday, Justice Randall Worrell told the offender that “under normal circumstances” her matter was one that would attract a custodial sentence. However, there were mitigating factors relating to the offence and to herself, he added. (HLE)
