A flash flood watch which was in effect for Barbados has been upgraded to a warning.
A flash flood warning is issued when rapid flooding due to heavy or excessive rainfall in a short period of time (generally less than six hours) is occurring or is imminent in the warning area.
Unstable conditions affecting the island have generated between one to 1.5 inches of rainfall during the morning. Additional moderate to heavy showers are likely to generate between two to four inches across Barbados this evening and into tonight.
Therefore, the flash flood watch has been upgraded to a warning. It will be in effect from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., but may be updated sooner if conditions warrant. (PR/SAT)
