Doctor said he knew alleged rape victim

Dr Michael Charles told the No. 5 Supreme Court on Wednesday that he knew the alleged victim in the Neil Gabriel Rowe rape case, and when she visited his medical facility on September 19, 2022, she complained of being sexually assaulted but did not say by whom.

He was testifying in the No. 5 Supreme Court on Wednesday as the rape trial of Member of Parliament Rowe, 45, continued.

The case involving the former Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly began on Monday. He pleaded not guilty to having sexual intercourse with a woman on September 18, 2022, at his home in Kingsland Terrace, Christ Church, without her consent or was reckless as to whether she consented.

The doctor said the complaint was that of unprotected sex, frequent urination and concerns about having an infection. The woman, who was his patient, was depressed and tearful, he added, but there were no physical findings.
