Death leads to call for change

The tragic death of a cherished family member has left a St Philip community calling for better lighting and the debushing of a popular road.

Police reported yesterday that Anthony “Conch” Outram, 45, of Oughterson Road, St Philip, died on the spot about 8:50 p.m. on Saturday after being involved in a collision with a Barbados Police Service vehicle along Bushy Park Main Road in the same parish.

“Initial investigations revealed that the motor van was travelling along Bushy Park Main Road coming from the direction of Beulah, going towards Bushy Park racing circuit, when the driver of the motor van struck the pedestrian on the left side of the road. A medical doctor visited the scene and pronounced death. Family members identified the deceased,” police stated.
