Cellphone thief ordered to avoid ex

He felt no need to apologise to his ex-girlfriend and she especially did not want anything from him, not even the court- suggested $1 000 in compensation for a broken cellphone.

In the end, 27-year-old Khalil Henry of Rock Close, Wildey, St Michael, was told to stay way from his former girlfriend or face a monetary penalty for not doing so.

Henry, who appeared last week before Magistrate Manila Renee in the Criminal Court No. 2 of the District “A” Magistrates’ Court, pleaded guilty to entering Anansa St Justest’s house as a trespasser and stealing a $2 000 cellphone on February 24.

The prosecutor said that even though the relationship had ended, Henry still frequented the virtual complainant’s house and on the day in question he sent a WhatsApp message to her, instructing her to open her front gate as he wanted to speak with her.
