Bradshaw says roadworks programme to start soon

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Works and Water Resources Santia Bradshaw is promising road relief across the country.

“It is coming. Give us time,” she said yesterday on Starcom’s Down to Brasstacks radio call-in programme.

“The ability to have money to do what we want to do will always be a challenge, especially where we enter a situation facing financial crisis, COVID-19 and to pretty much balance where we spend and how we spend.”

Bradshaw said the roads have deteriorated “so much” over the past couple years and that has not helped.

“Without proper planning and prioritising the right roads that would have presented a challenge.”

She said that they have gone after major funding externally after only spending $16 million last year. (NS)
