Not only does Menelik Marcus Armstrong have to look for $25 000 to pay the remainder of a magistrate’s court drug fine but he also now owes the high court a balance of $15 000 for having an illegal gun and ammunition.
Armstrong, 24, of Mt Hillaby, St Andrew, was back in the No. 3 Supreme Court yesterday for sentencing after he had pleaded guilty, earlier in the Sessions, to having a .25-semi-automatic pistol and nine rounds of ammunition in his possession on May 26, 2017.
The matters were prosecuted by Senior State Counsel Neville Watson.
Armstrong has seven previous drug convictions – two each for simple possession, trafficking and possession with intent to supply and one for cultivating cannabis. (HLE)
