The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory identified 156 new COVID-19 cases (66 males and 90 females) from the 1 016 tests carried out on Monday, March 7.
The cases comprised 46 people under the age of 18 and 110 who were 18 years and older.
There were 48 people in isolation facilities, while 1 320 were in home isolation.
A 97-year-old unvaccinated man died from the virus on Monday. As at March 7, the virus claimed 323 lives.
The public health laboratory carried out 593 238 tests since February 2020, and recorded 56 376 COVID-19 cases (26 161 males and 30 215 females).
Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the number of people with at least one dose is 160 503 (70.3 per cent of the eligible population). The number of fully vaccinated people is 150 066 (55.4 per cent of the total population or 65.7 per cent of the eligible population).
